The Snooze Notification feature in Alerts4Dynamics allows users to temporarily dismiss alert notifications and have them reappear later. This helps in keeping the notification panel clean while ensuring that important messages are not missed.
With this feature, users can choose from preset snooze durations (1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day) or set a custom date and time. When snoozed, the notification disappears from the panel and reappears as an unread pop-up notification once the selected time is reached.
Navigate to Alerts Entity > Click on + New to create a new alert.
Enter the Alert Name
Select the Alert Type
Click Save to proceed.
After saving the Alert, scroll down to the Messages section.
Click on + New Message.
A new message form will open.
Fill in all the required fields.
Allow Snooze – set this to Yes (default is No) to enable the Snooze for the notification.
Enter the Notification Message Text.
Click on Activate to publish the message.
Users can snooze a single notification or can snooze by selecting multiple notifications.
Let’s understand the process of snoozing a single notification. To snooze a single notification, follow the steps given below:
When a new notification comes, you will see a red dot on the Notification bell icon, which indicates “Unread Notifications.”
You will see a Snooze icon on the notification within the notification panel.
Click on the Snooze icon.
Choose one of the following options:
1 Hour
4 Hours
1 Day
Custom – allows you to pick a specific date and time to snooze the notification.
Once a snooze time is selected:
The notification will temporarily disappear from the panel and it will reappear in the panel according to the selected snooze time.
It will reappear as an unread notification after the selected time.
For example, if 1 Hour is selected, the notification will reappear in the notification panel exactly after one hour.
Follow the steps given below to snooze multiple notifications at once:
To select a notification from the panel, click on a single or multiple notification(s) in the Notification Panel. After selecting a notification, its color will be light green.
After selecting the notifications, a Snooze button will appear at the bottom of the notification panel, Click the Snooze button.
Select Snoozing time, for example, Custom from the list of snooze options.
After selecting the Custom option, a date and time pop-up will appear.
Choose the exact Date and Time until which you want to snooze the notification.
Click on the Submit Button.
The notification will disappear and come back to the panel as an unread pop-up notification at the specified time.
If you do not wish to allow users to snooze a notification, follow the steps below to create an Alert without a snooze notification:
In the Message form, set Allow Snooze to No.
Add a message for the Alert.
Then, Save and Activate the message.
The “Snooze” icon will not be visible on the notification(s) as Allow Snooze set to No
Now, when the user clicks on Snooze in the notification panel after selecting the notification(s):
A pop-up will be shown: “Snooze Not Allowed”
This ensures that the notification cannot be snoozed.
