Azure Managed Application Setup
Backup4Dynamics runs as an Azure Managed Application published on Microsoft AppSource. It is deployed into your own Azure subscription, so the backup service, its configuration, and your backup data all remain within your Microsoft Entra ID tenant.
You can deploy the application in one of two ways:
Option 1: Deploy from Azure Marketplace
Deploy the managed application directly from its Marketplace listing: Backup4Dynamics.
This option suits administrators who prefer to work in the Azure portal and manage the deployment there.
Option 2: Deploy from Dynamics 365 (recommended for Dynamics 365 users)
The Backup4Dynamics solution in your Dynamics 365 (Dataverse) environment includes a guided installation experience. You don't need to search AppSource or configure Azure resources by hand. The wizard walks you through deploying the managed application directly from the Home page in Dynamics 365, and the solution displays the deployment status so you can follow progress without leaving Dynamics 365.
Follow these steps to deploy the Backup4Dynamics Azure Managed Application from Dynamics 365 CRM.
1. Open Backup4Dynamics
Open Dynamics 365 CRM and select Backup4Dynamics from the app switcher.

2. Start the Deployment
On the Backup4Dynamics landing page, click Get Started to begin the Azure Managed Application deployment.

After that, Click on 'Continue with Microsoft'

3. Enter Azure Deployment Details
Enter or select the required Azure details:

You can monitor the deployment status.

Once the deployment is completed successfully, you will see the screen below.

After the deployment is complete, click on the url presented for the Open Backup4Dynamics Admin App. Either copy the URL and paste it into the browser, or you can click on the button.

When the admin app opens, you get 2 options: Automatic Setup and Manual Setup. Select Automatic Setup if you want Backup4Dynamics to set up everything for you automatically and click on Continue. If you want to set everything up manually, choose Manual Setup.
Here we are selecting Automatic Setup for reference.

A 'Set Up Automatically' screen will show up. Click on the 'Continue with Microsoft' button.

A Backup4Dynamics permission window will pop up. Click on the Accept button.

You can monitor setting up your connection.

Once the setup is complete, you will get an option to sign in. Check all your details and click on the Sign-in button.

After the sign-in is complete, select the environment for which you want to take the backup. Click on Continue.

Your setup is now complete, and you can explore the features of backup4Dynamics.
