# Limitations

### Backup Limitations

The following limitations apply to the backup functionality:

* **Metadata** — Backup of metadata is not supported.
* **Solution components** — Backup of solution components is not supported.
* **Customizations** — Backup of Dynamics 365 CRM/Dataverse customizations is not supported.
* **Security role changes** — Backup of security role changes is not supported.
* **Audit Logs** — Backup of Audit Logs is not supported.
* **Unsupported entity types** — Backup is not supported for the following entity/table types: 
  * Virtual entity/table
  * Elastic entity/table

### Restore Limitations

The following limitations apply to the restore functionality:

* **Metadata** — Restoration of metadata is not supported.
* **Solution components** — Restoration of solution components is not supported.
* **Security roles** — Restoration of security roles is not supported.
* **Customizations** — Restoration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM or Dataverse customizations is not supported.
* **Environment restriction** — Data can only be restored to the original source environment. Restoring data to a different environment is not supported.
* **Related records** — Restore of related records is supported up to one level only. For example, if a Contact record is restored, its related Opportunity records can also be restored. However, the records related to those Opportunities (for example, Quotes) cannot be restored as part of the same operation.
