# Granular Restore

Granular restore allows administrators to restore specific backed-up records without restoring the entire snapshot.

### Search and Restore Records from a Backup

Backup4Dynamics allows administrators to search for backed-up records using a date range and entity. The search can be further refined using the Changes filter or by searching for a record by name or ID. Administrators can then select the required records for restoration.

**Search for Backed-up Records**

1. Navigate to Search & Restore in Backup4Dynamics.
2. Specify a date range to search for backed-up records.
3. Select the entity you want to restore records from.
4. Optionally, refine your search using:
 1. Changes filter (created, modified, deleted)
 2. Record name or ID search
5. Review the search results.
6. Select the required records for restoration. If you click on the 'Restore Selected Records' button, then only the selected records will be restored. When you select 'Restore All Account changes', then all the records will be restored

* **Fill Blanks Only** — Populate fields that are currently blank.
* **Keep Current Value When Backup Field Is Blank** — Keep the current value when the corresponding backup field is blank.
* **Skip** — Leave the existing record unchanged.

**For Deleted Records:**

* **Skip** — Leave the deleted record unchanged.
* **Create** — Recreate a record that exists in the backup snapshot but has been deleted from the live environment.

If you do not want to trigger background processes, such as plugins, workflows, or Power Automate flows, during the restore operation, enable the **Bypass** option in the **Automation and Data Fidelity** section.

When this option is enabled, the specified background processes are bypassed during the restore operation.
