# Phone Number Formats

Imagine a global sales team managing customer data in Dynamics 365 CRM. A sales representative enters a new contact with the phone number **98, 92, 485673**, while another colleague in a different region has already entered the same contact as **(989) 2485673**.

With the Phone Number Formats feature, these entries will be flagged as duplicates even after formatting differences. This not only streamlines communication but also enhances efficiency across teams by providing a unified view of customer data, reducing errors, and improving CRM performance.

Once you have configured the duplicate detection based on Phone Number Formats, you can navigate to **Sales Hub → Contact Entity →** Select and open the record and Click on the **“Show Duplicates” button** to detect duplicates based on phone number formats.
