# Color Coding

#### Overview

Color Coding assigns a distinct color to each table. In Tree View, that color is applied to a record's avatar badge and to the border of its entity node, making it easy to visually distinguish record types (Account, Contact, Opportunity, etc.) within the tree at a glance.

#### How to Configure Entity Color Coding

Color Coding is configured using the standard Dataverse table color setting in the Power Apps maker portal.

1\. Open the Power Apps maker portal and go to Tables.

2\. Select the table for which you want to set a color, such as Account.

3\. On the table's overview page, select Properties.

a. In the table properties panel, locate the Color field and select the color swatch to open Select color.

b. Choose a color using the color picker, the color spectrum slider, or by entering exact Hex, Red, Green, and Blue values.

c. Select Save to apply the color to the table properties.

d. Go to Advanced > Publish table to publish the change so it takes effect.

#### Result

After the table color is saved and the table is published, Tree View displays that color on:

· The colored avatar badge shown on each node for that table.

· The outline/border of the entity node for that table (for example, Contact nodes are outlined in the Contact table's assigned color).
