# Auto-Remove Mailchimp Tags/Interests When Contacts/Leads Are Deleted in Dynamics 365 CRM

To maintain clean and relevant audience segmentation in Mailchimp, Marketing4Dynamics now offers a feature that removes Tags and Interests from Mailchimp members when their associated Contact or Lead is deleted in Dynamics 365 CRM.

When a Contact or Lead is deleted in Dynamics 365 CRM, their associated Tags and Interests are automatically removed from the corresponding Mailchimp member without deleting the member itself. This ensures the member is excluded from future campaigns, prevents accidental data loss, and helps maintain accurate, targeted audience segmentation.

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: This setting is disabled by default and must be enabled manually.
{% endhint %}

**Prerequisites**

* The Contact or Lead must already be synced to Mailchimp via Marketing4Dynamics.

**Enable the Setting**

To enable this feature kindly refer to this [link](https://docs.inogic.com/marketing4dynamics/configuration/configure-global-setting#auto-remove-mailchimp-tags-interests-when-contacts-leads-are-deleted-in-dynamics-365-crm).

**Example Workflow**

Let’s walk through how this feature works:

1. Consider a Lead record in Dynamics 365 named Adam Smith.

2. In the Tags and Interests panel, you can view multiple Mailchimp tags and interest (groups) assigned to this lead.

3. This lead is already synced between Dynamics 365 CRM and Mailchimp. The Mailchimp member also reflects the same tags and interests.

4. Now, delete the Lead record in Dynamics 365 CRM.

5. Once deleted, Marketing4Dynamics will automatically remove the associated Tags and Interests from the corresponding Mailchimp member.

This ensures that your Mailchimp audience stays clean and accurate, reducing the risk of outdated segmentation or unwanted targeting.

Note: If syncing for the Lead or Contact is paused, the changes (such as tag or interest removal) will **not** be reflected in Mailchimp.
