Drag and Drop Email and its Attachments from Outlook to cloud storage with Dynamics 365

With Dynamics 365 for Outlook, it is now possible to use Dynamics 365 apps, such as Attach2Dynamics, directly within Outlook. This enhancement allows for seamless migration of notes, attachments, and files from Outlook to cloud storage using the Attach2Dynamics UI within Outlook, facilitating hassle-free data migration and management.

Suppose Cortana is a user who wants to integrate cloud storage from Outlook for effective data migration and management & Alex Peter is one of the accounts in CRM. Cortana wants to migrate all attachments from his Outlook to cloud storage.

1. Once you configure Dynamics 365 in your Outlook, you will see the “Dynamics 365” button in the ribbon bar or pane.

2. To open the Attach2Dynamic app in Outlook, click on the “Dynamics 365” button. This action will display the CRM environment within Outlook.

3. Now, select account – Alex Peter, and Click on the ellipsis and choose 'Attach2Dynamics.' This will bring up the Attach2Dynamics UI within Outlook.

4. Using this UI, you can use all native actions of Attach2Dynamics directly within Outlook same as Dynamics 365 CRM:

Drag and Drop: Easily drag and drop multiple files and folders from Outlook to SharePoint, Azure Blob Storage, or Dropbox using the Attach2Dynamics UI.

Upload: Upload multiple files to SharePoint, Azure Blob Storage, or Dropbox, either from the current email or your local system.

Download: Access and download all documents from the selected storage system. Bulk download of files is also supported.

Rename: Rename documents by selecting the desired files and folders.

Copy Link: Generate and copy a link for the selected document to share outside of Dynamics 365 CRM. If 'View' is selected, the document is read-only. If 'Edit' mode is selected, the document is available for editing.

Create Folder: Create a folder for all three cloud storage options.

Migrate Outlook’s Email Body Content: This feature allows you to migrate the content of an email's body, including messages, images, and GIFs, from the CRM system to any cloud storage such as SharePoint, Dropbox, or Azure Blob Storage.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage data within Outlook, streamlining your workflow and improving data organization.
