  • Navigate to Settings -> Advanced Settings.

20) Does Click2Clone include functionality that enables users to identify the source record of a cloned record while simultaneously updating specific fields of the cloned record? For instance, suppose you intend to clone leads from opportunities and need to assign a fixed lead type value after the cloning process.

Yes, using the Click2Clone solution, you can clone a Lead from an Opportunity with the help of the configuration mentioned in the link.

To set the default value of the lead type on cloning, follow the below two steps:

Step 1: Configure the Copy references of records feature in Click2Clone product. The configuration process also requires some basic customization, thus, follow the detailed steps on how to configure this feature at this link. For the mentioned use case, the purpose of configuring would be that the Opportunity lookup field on the Lead (that will capture the source opportunity record) will act as an identifier for the Lead records created by cloning an Opportunity.

Step 2: After the successful configuration of Step 1, you would require to develop a process that will fire every time a lead gets created, but as the first step of the process, you will require to check if the lead created has the value in the Opportunity Lookup created on Lead in Step 1. If this field has a value, then it means this was created using Click2Clone, and in the next step of your process, you will need to update the value of Lead Type to the respective value.
